CURRENT READ: Currently reading: The Seven Necessary Sins for Women and Girls by Mona Eltahawy👭💫✨

This is a beautifully stirring work of literature. It is brave, outspoken, emotionally resonant and so clearly articulated. I have been furiously underlining profound lines in almost every paragraph I’ve read so far. Part of me is tempted to just highlight every damned word, since every sentence seems to be so awesome🤷🏾‍♀️😅

I’m finding that it’s both stirring up dormant emotions and offering a cathartic release. There’s a strength in solidarity. Like many others, I am perpetually angry and scared by the very real misogyny we womxn face on a daily basis. Sometimes it’s explicit and loud, and sometimes it’s passive aggressive and more subtle, but either way: misogyny is still at play🙄👊🏾

Mona Eltahawy is a formidable force against the patriarchy. It is truly a pleasure to be reading this masterpiece at the moment and I will definitely be recommending it to all my bookish friends🙏🏾

@monaeltahawy thank you for being such a passionate advocate and mouthpiece for womxn and queers all over the world. I absolutely cannot wait for the (hopefully COVID-19-free) day I get to meet you at Bradford Literature Festival/Waterstones! 💜
