Highly recommend Han Kang’s ‘The Vegetarian’: it’s a short novel about a woman who has a vivid nightmare and consequently decides to abstain from eating meat. This one decision triggers a series of radical repercussions for the mental/physical state of the woman herself as well as for her family, who watch as she progressively declines.
I followed this with an easy read from Lianne Moriarty (‘Nine Perfect Strangers’) about a wellness resort with an ominous secret. This one was a nice break and I look forward to watching on screen, as I hear it’s due to be adapted into a film soon.
Now I’m back to the one and only Stephen King, and I’ve started with Mr Mercedes, the first in the Bill Hodges series. I’m on the lookout for some more titles I can look into this year so I welcome any recommendations!
Next book haul can’t come soon enough 🤤
